My two cents:
We are a site license site and chose Kermit 95 as a telnet client (staff
connected to the UNC online library systems editing records and the like,
patrons at public workstations).
Deciding factors for us included just how good the VT terminal emulation is
(crucial for the editor in the online catalog) and the heavy duty scripting
/ programming / macro capabilites that let staff automate a lot of their
work. We were an existing MSDOS Kermit shop and had a large investment in
this kind of stuff.
Folks needing file transfer usually use ftp clients, but I expect to see a
lot of use of the netedit feature by our webauthors as it makes it easy for
them to use pc editors rather than struggle with vi or even pico.
